Community Alliance with Family Farmers – The Farm to School Initiative reconnects children with local food and agriculture in the classroom, on the farm, and in the cafeteria.  The programs include farm field trips, nutrition education in school gardens, and farm-fresh salad bars.Food Security – The Community Food Security Coalition (CFSC) is a non-profit, North American organization dedicated to building strong, sustainable, local and regional food systems that ensure access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food for all people at all times.

Edible Schoolyard – A program of the Chez Panisse Foundation, is a one-acre organic garden and kitchen classroom for urban public school students.  Hands-on experience in the kitchen and garden fosters a deeper appreciation of how the natural world sustains us and promotes the environmental and social well-being of our school community.

Farm To School Program – Farm to School connects schools (K-12) and local farms with the objectives of serving healthy meals in school cafeterias, improving student nutrition, providing agriculture, health and nutrition education opportunities, and supporting local and regional farmers.

Nurture – Nurture is a local, grass roots organization (Chicago suburban North Shore) that was founded in 2008 to address issues including hunger, childhood obesity, wellness and an increasingly unhealthy food chain.  The mission is to empower family members of all ages (children, teens and adults) with the tools and resources needed to prepare healthy and delicious meals, even when faced with limited time and budget.

PCRM’s Healthy School Lunches – The Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) resources for parents, schools, and students.

The Healthy School Lunch Campaign – Sponsored by the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), is dedicated to improving the food served to children in schools by educating government and school officials, food service workers, parents, and others about the food choices best able to promote children’s current and long-term health.

Two Angry Moms – Two Angry Moms shows not only on what is wrong with school food; it offers strategies for overcoming roadblocks and getting healthy, good tasting, real food into school cafeterias.
