Smoothies & Blended Salads

Here are some nutritious concoctions I’ve been collecting from clients to help get your creative juices flowing!  Basically, the difference between a smoothie and a blended salad is that the smoothie is mostly fruit, whereas the blended salad is at least half veggies.  Feel free to tweak these according to your preferences, and please do share your favorites below…

  • Fruit & Veggie Smoothie from The Real Meal Today: 1 cup pomegranate juice or fresh apple juice, 1 cup kale or baby spinach, 1 banana, 1 pear, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds or chia seeds, 1/4 cup almond milk, unsweetened
  • Lisa’s Gingery Goodness – 4 cups Romaine and spinach, 1 banana, 1 apple, fresh ginger, 1 cup almond milk
  • Orange Sunshine: 1 large carrot, 1 seedless orange, 1 banana, stevia, non-dairy milk
  • Green Giant: 1 stem of broccoli, 8 cups of fresh spinach, 3 ribs of celery, 3 granny smith apples, juice of 1 lemon, 12 oz of silken firm tofu, stevia, water (this makes about 3 liters)
  • Heather’s Delicious Combo: 1 large handful of baby spinach, 1 entire romaine heart, 1 large handful of swiss chard, 3 celery stalks, 2 large carrots, 1 apple, 2 tbsp ground flax seed, 1/2 cup apricot nectar, 1 handful of ice, and a splash of water
  • Dina’s Favorite Green Smoothie: 1 frozen banana, 1 naval orange, 1 Tbsp ground flax seed, 1 apple, baby spinach
  • Linda’s Staple Smoothie: 2 cups kale, bunch of watercress, 1 carrot, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup grapes, 1/2 apple, 3 prunes
  • Elisa’s Daily Dose: 2 cups kale, 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 orange, 1 Tbsp. flax, 8 drops of vanilla liquid Stevia, 1 cup water
  • Laura’s Green Morning Smoothie: 5 prunes, 1/2 banana, 1 cup frozen mixed berries, 8oz greens (green cabbage, kale, spinach)
  • Judy’s Smoothie: 8 oz. almond milk, 1 Tbsp. flax, 1 Tbsp. sunflower seeds, 1 date, 1 pear, 1 slice of pineapple, 1/2 banana, 16 oz. kale
  • Laura’s Cinnamon Delight: 8 oz celery, spinach, romaine; 1/2 banana, 3 prunes, 1 cup frozen mixed berries, cinnamon
  • Laura’s Cinnamon Splash: 8 oz kale, romaine; 1/2 banana, 3 prunes, 1 cup frozen blueberries, cinnamon, a splash of alcohol-free vanilla, 1 cup water
  • Laura’s Cherry Supreme: 8 oz romaine; 1 cup red grapes, frozen cherries; 1/2 banana, 2 prunes, 1 cup water, 1Tbsp. cocoa powder, 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • Everything Good: 8 oz spinach, orange pepper, and celery; 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 cup frozen mango and peaches
  • Rabbit Snack: Orange, carrot, cucumber, flax, cabbage, frozen strawberry
  • PB Slush: Orange, frozen strawberry, peanuts, cucumber
  • Tropical Wonder: Orange, carrot, frozen strawberry, flax, pineapple
  • Green Gorilla: 5 oz. romaine, 5 oz. baby spinach, 1/2 avocado, 1 banana – Blend avocado with the banana, then add lettuce and spinach.
  • Smooth & Creamy Greeny: 6 oz. romaine, 6 oz. spinach, 1/4 cup soymilk, 8 dates
  • Garden of Eden: 6 oz. romaine, 6 oz. baby spinach, 4 apricots soaked overnight with 1/4 cup soymilk, 2 Tbsp. OJ
  • Green Citrus Medley: 8-10 oz. romaine or lettuce leaf, 1 orange (peeled), 1 cup fresh pineapple, 1/4 cup OJ
  • Green Fuel: 8 oz. romaine, 4 oz. spinach, 1 oz. raw sunflower seeds, 1 oz. pine nuts, 1 oz. raw cashews, 1 banana, 2 dates, 1/4 cup soymilk
  • Stinky Drink: 6 oz. spinach, 1-2 tomatoes, 2 cloves raw garlic, 1 thin slice red onion
