Gey Groovy sounds terrific, I’d love to be able to get one on one advice from someone who truly “gets it”!

Reply

Elisa Rodriguez, RD, LDN January 26, 2012 at 7:23 am

So true! You’ve come to the right place because I definitely “get it”! It’s interesting how easily it clicks with some, while others have a really tough time comprehending the key concepts.

Hopefully Julieanna and I can continue to spread the good word!!

If you’re serious about getting advice, consider our No Obligation Consultation for the Get Groovy! program.

I was already following Julieanna on FB (I don’t have Twitter), so I liked Improve your Groove and subscribed as well. I just started doing a plant-based diet a few weeks ago and have not been able to stop seeking any and all information I possibly can about it to educate myself. I am already noticing positive changes with my body and so excited to continue my journey. For me, with a husband at home who is still skeptical about completely cutting out meat, recipes would be the most beneficial to any virtual program. When I have made him delicious, fresh vegan meals, he says, ” I think I could do this,” and that gets me so excited! Support at home is critical, so anything I can find to give me new ideas and education is amazing. Thanks for that already! (Sorry for the lengthy comment :) …)

Elisa Rodriguez, RD, LDN January 26, 2012 at 7:50 am

Super feedback Lisa, thank you!! It sounds like what I call “transitional” foods are especially useful for your husband right now, and certainly fresh tasty meals are appealing too! The great news is that we know how to make any less desirable item that you’ve made previously into a healthier version without sacrificing enjoyment. I do provide a regular reflux of recipes here on EUV, plus our newsletter for Improve Your Groove shares a monthly recipe too – so definitely hop on our mailing list. As for our clients, they have access to an entire recipe forum where we provide and share our favorites among one another. We think it’s a pretty swell system. ;-)

In a virtual program I’d love to get help on how to keep up and maintain a stress-free and positive lifestyle and be able to stick with certain things, i.e. eating healthy and practicing stress-releasing activities. Sometimes you start out energetic and excited about something then after a little while you start to lose motivation.

Elisa Rodriguez, RD, LDN January 26, 2012 at 7:55 am

This is a common problem I see with folks, which is one of the reasons why we extended the Get Groovy! Program to 6 months in addition to providing lifetime access to a supportive community where people experiencing the same trials and tribulations can come together. As a result we’re fostering an atmosphere for success!

Following both on Twitter and on mailing list. I would like to have a 30 day challenge with a virtual program. Daily videos and perhaps word for the day. I hope to win because I just had my 3 month vegetarian anniversary I am the cook in my house so my husband is on this journey with me :) any help would be welcomed with warm hearts and gratitude.

Elisa Rodriguez, RD, LDN January 26, 2012 at 8:00 am

Congrats on 3 months Ember, that’s a terrific milestone!! The cool thing about our Zen Den community (which all Get Groovy! clients have lifetime access to) is that we’re able to pose 30-day challenges within the community, or a particular “group”, we provide weekly Live webinars with video access and we provide daily encouragement too! We’d love to have you join us to help foster your long term growth!!

I liked Julieanna’s Facebook page. I just started weight training this week and am so confused. I am trying to do this without paying for an expensive trainer. There are so many machines, I am concerned I’ll strengthen one part of my muscles leaving another weakened. Also a slow start with machines or weights would be great so as I follow I can add a little at a time working up to a full routine. Another suggestion would be snacks – sometimes I am so hungry a short time after eating mounds of vegetables at a meal. Nuts are supposed to have too much fat to rely on too heavily.

Reply

Elisa Rodriguez, RD, LDN January 26, 2012 at 8:08 am

Hi Breanda – We provide comprehensive nutrition education to help people to understand how to prolong the hunger by incorporating a balance of satiating whole foods, so that you don’t have to feel deprived, hungry or overwhelmed with the need to constantly snack.

Not only do I provide the food and nutrition expertise, but Ronni is a whiz at weight training as a personal trainer, yoga and spin instructor. We could easily streamline this process for you so keep us in mind, and remember… you deserve it!

Right on Joseph! It’s pretty amazing, the influence we have on those near and dear to use once we demonstrate health and wellness in our own lives. Master your own mojo, and the rest will follow simply by setting a good example!!

I love and wholeheartedly agree that health and weight changes need constantly weekly support, I spent a year working for and have been a client of a place that did such thing only their plan was vastly different, none-the-less it worked so well! I have other dietary needs, such as I have been vegetarian forever nearly but recently pregnant with health issues which make plant-based challenging for me, etc… so having dietetic advice on the same page as me would be awesome, and if our budget ever lightens up I would love to embark. For now I’ll just follow and appreciate the FB/Twitter stuff, but I love the idea:)

Reply

Elisa Rodriguez, RD, LDN January 26, 2012 at 7:36 am

Thank you Kelly, we’d LOVE to have you and I’m sure you’d be a great asset to our invite-only community to The Zen Den, a lifetime perk that each of our lucky Get Groovy! clients receive. I know times are tough and life is expensive, but definitely keep this in mind moving forward as it won’t only benefit your mind and satisfy your soul… it will also have a HUGE impact on your child’s life for many, many years to come.

kelly miller January 25, 2012 at 2:30 pm

to add to my above comment I am striving for a fully plant- based pregnancy and to finally get, at least my kids if not my husband(maybe never my husband) also committed (they are 2, 13 and 14-girls) so that is how I found you, web searching (mostly fb searching) for all the help I can get!!!!

Elisa Rodriguez, RD, LDN January 26, 2012 at 7:29 am

Hi Wen! All of my programs on EatUrVeggies are 100% plant-based and fairly aggressive. With the Get Groovy! program, the ultimate underlying goal is to learn and understand a plant-based lifestyle via education, motivation and inspiration. Since that’s a 6-month program, we take it nice and slow and allow people to ease in at a pace which they feel comfortable.

Lauren Culp January 26, 2012 at 10:29 am

Per Julieanna’s advice, I am trying to cut back on oil, nuts, and seeds. What I would like to see is information on HOW you do that when it comes to baking and cooking in general. Also how to transition a picky eater to a plant based diet.

Reply

Elisa Rodriguez, RD, LDN January 26, 2012 at 11:09 am

All good questions that are quite doable for our clients once we teach them the know-how. Thanks for your feedback Lauren!

Fulfilled steps, please enter me in the giveaway, i could really benefit from the book :)

Im transitioning to vegan very slowly and get groovy sounds like something myself (and others in my position) would benefit from. I dont know much about the vegan lifestyle, i thought that being a vegetarian for 3 years was closest to it but im learning it is not! So having and expert nearby would be really helpful!

I have just begun a plant based lifestyle. Anything I can get to make the path less bumpy is appreciated. Variety is the key I suspect. I’m also gluten free and have thought many times it’s too much. But I feel better! If nothing more than less guilty. LOL
